Minmetals chamber of commerce: rare earth prices will continue to rise

Xinhua information Beijing on December 28 -- the Asian metal net reported that Chinese chamber of commerce of metals and chemicals XuXu 28th President, said with copper, oil and commodities such as iron ore prices, rare earth prices still has the potential to continue rising trend in recent years.

XuXu in an industry conference say, rare earth prices is not a unique phenomenon. He says China's rare earth industry needs integration, in order to improve the influence of rare earth pricing. XuXu said China should raise domestic re mining industry environment admittance threshold. He also urged to promote global diversification of rare earth supply.

Imported this year for the first time exceeded 100 million tons of rare-earth ore

Beijing, dec. 28 report (reporter WangXi) China chamber of commerce of metals and chemicals XuXu 28th President, said in China since 2001, rare earth products export basic stability, at the same time, domestic consumption demand growth this year, rare earth ore import for the first time exceeded 100 million tons.

"Although rare earth products price rise apparently, but from the same period crude oil, copper, iron ore and other large sums of product of the international price rise can see, rare earth prices does not have a particularity." XuXu said.

Meanwhile, this year 1 to October China imported 679 rare-earth ore 10381 tons, the first time exceeded 1 million tons, 144.09% year-on-year growth.
